There has understandably been a great deal of concern regarding the recent outbreaks of the ebola virus as people are seeking facts about the disease, particularly its causes, symptoms and treatment. Equally important are considerations as to what can be done to protect ourselves and prevent exposure and spread.
Remarkable Grins of Manalapan, NJ has a strong history in meeting or exceeding ADA and CDC recommendations for sterilization and infection control.
In addition to our already stringent protocols, Dr. Len Ciuffreda has made sure that our office is at the forefront of protecting our patients with regard to ebola and other contagious illnesses, such as the flu, by implementing additional safeguards above and beyond standard measures.
First and foremost, we are following the American Dental Association recommendations by asking our patients about their travel history, and delaying seeing anyone who has travelled to west Africa or has been in contact with someone who has for 21 days.
We also delay seeing patients for treatment who are exhibiting signs of illness, ;particularly fever. We have actually purchased the same professional touchless scanning thermometer that is being used by health officials at the airports to screen passengers. This way we can identify anyone we suspect of having a fever.
We have also placed dispensers of antibacterial gel and encourage our patients to use them as they arrive for their appointments.
In our next blog, we’ll continue to discuss how we at Remarkable Grins continually protect our patients health with our sterilization and infection control protocols that have been in place since our doors have opened.
We would love to care for your dental needs in our clean and safe environment. Give us a call today at 732-979-2090 to schedule your appointment today.
We wish you great dental health and a blessed day!
